Robbie Neilson continues to strengthen his squad for the upcoming campaign with the additions of Conor Sammon and Faycal Rherras.
The Hearts head coach has completed the double signing ahead of the Jambos’ Europa League campaign, which kicks off in just 16 days time.
Striker Conor joins the club after his contract at Derby County expired. No stranger to Scottish football, the Republic of Ireland cap enjoyed a prolific period at Kilmarnock in 2011 before winning a move to then English premiership side Wigan Athletic. He’s penned a three-year contract at Tynecastle.
Belgian-born Moroccan Faycal becomes a Hearts player after a successful period at Belgian side Sint-Truiden, where he made 49 appearances over two seasons. The left-back has also enjoyed international experience with Morocco’s U23 side and signs a three-year deal at the club.
Speaking about the signings, Robbie said: “I’m delighted to get both players to Tynecastle.
“Conor brings a lot of experience to the squad. He knows the Scottish game well after a successful period at Kilmarnock and has played at the highest level down in England.
“Faycal is a player with real potential and will be a big boost to the defence. He’s played at a good level in Belgium and has been involved in the Moroccan international scene so it’s quite a coup to get him.
“Both players will add a lot to the squad and I’m looking forward to working with them.”
Conor is seen above in the new bespoke Puma 2016/17 home jersey. Further details on the availability of the jersey and pre-orders will be provided on the club website later today.
