Club lands top award

27th September 2013

Hearts voted Best Professional Club in the Community at glittering ceremony at Hampden Park.

Heart of Midlothian FC is celebrating after being named the Best Professional Club in the Community.

The club landed the prestigious honour at the McDonald's and Sunday Mail Scottish FA Grassroots Awards at Hampden Park last night.

Scotland legend Kenny Dalglish and assistant national manager Mark McGhee presented the award to Big Hearts CEO Alan White after the Edinburgh outfit beat off stiff competition from 42 other clubs.

"It's a great honour for the club to receive this award," said Alan.

"It's fantastic to receive such an accolade and is reflective of the huge work so many put in across many programmes in the communities we serve."

Big Hearts engaged with 13,000 people last year and the award is recognition of the breadth and depth of programmes across education, grassroots sport and charity.
