No fewer than eight Hearts players were involved with the national set-up over the past few days, with seven Jambos winning caps for Scotland.
Last night’s U21s friendly win over Hungary, 2-1 in Tatabanya, saw Jack Hamilton, Callum Paterson, Jordan McGhee and Sam Nicholson all start, with Billy King coming off the subs bench in the 63rd minute.
The U19s also won 2-1, beating Austria in their own backyard to kick-off the Elite Round of the European Championships in style. Angus Beith, currently on loan at Stirling Albion, made a second-half substitute appearance while Liam Smith remained on the bench.
Capping off a clean sweep, Ian Smith came off the bench to help the U17s to a 2-0 win over Bosnia Herzegovina in Hungary. Following two more games, the young Scots qualified from the Elite Round and will participate in the European Championship Finals in Bulgaria this summer.
