Clare: Keep momentum going

23rd January 2019

Sean Clare wants Hearts to build on the momentum they’ve gathered following Sunday’s Scottish Cup win over Livingston.

The midfielder bagged his first goal in a maroon shirt to put Livi to the sword and make it three wins on the bounce, with no goals conceded.

He knows the Jambos face some tough tests over the next couple of weeks - starting with Dundee at Tynecastle Park tonight – but insists he and his team-mates will work their socks off to pick up maximum points.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Sean said: “We’re three unbeaten now and we need to keep that up.

“The longer you go unbeaten, the better you feel.

“The more goals you score, the better you feel, so it’s important that we keep going into games with the right mindset.

“We’ve got games coming up where we’ve got to work hard and get results.

“With a bit of momentum hopefully we can go on another run.

“We’ve got a really competitive squad; a lot of players in a lot positions who are all good and could all start.

“Every day, every week in training you’re playing for your place and that really makes training a good standard and makes everyone want to work harder.

“The new players have come in and I thought they did well at the weekend and that shows that no one is safe in the team, and that’s a good thing.

“We can only keep striving for the best and no one can slack off and just leave it.”
