Robbie Neilson says the only thing lacking from his side’s performance at Celtic tonight was goals as they fell to defeat at Celtic Park.
Kyogo Furuhashi’s first-half strike, which appeared to be offside, was all that separated the two sides come full time, with the Jambos dominating the second 45 and creating some glorious opportunities.
Although he was frustrated by the result, the manager was pleased with the belief his players showed and wants to that to be the norm for trips to Glasgow.
"I thought we pressed the game, got up on it and had belief in ourselves,” he said. “We came here in the cup three months ago in the cup and couldn't get in the game.
“Tonight's performance is what we need to get to and we need to do it consistently. And we need to score goals off the back of it.
"Celtic will have a lot of the ball and they are expansive. They drop McGregor in with the two centre-halves to build and if you can nick the ball then space opens up.
“We had opportunities to do it and just didn't have the final moment. I was frustrated but pleased with the performance.”
