Cammy buzzing with backing

19th November 2021

Cammy Devlin says trips on the road feel like home games because of the superb backing the Jambos get from stands.

3,500 Hearts fans will support the men in maroon at Fir Park on Saturday as Cammy and co resume cinch Premiership duty.

Eager to build on the thumping 5-2 victory over Dundee United before the international break, the Australian midfielder revealed how much the team feeds off the huge travelling support when they play away from home.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Cammy said: “It’s so good, just to know that we’ve had a week off and we’ve sold 3,500 tickets…away games usually feel like home games, personally.

“Because it’s an away game it’s actually a bit noisy because they’ve only got a small section of the stadium and they usually fill up a big area.

“It’s something that us players get so excited for and I, personally, buzz off of it. It makes us give that extra bit more when they’re making that noise.

“I think the game before Aberdeen and before that we’d drawn a couple and got our first loss was very disappointing but I feel like it maybe made us wake up again and got the competitiveness back within the squad and made us hungrier for more success.

“We wanted to get back to winning ways, especially at home and to give the fans what they deserve.

“That game couldn’t have gone better for us. We started off a bit shaky but we warmed into it. We needed goals and that’s what we gave the fans.

“It was such a fun game to be a part of and hopefully we can just build on that at the weekend.”
