Cameroon exit Confederations Cup

26th June 2017

Germany defeat knocks Arnaud Djoum's Cameroon out of the Confederations Cup.

Arnaud Djoum’s Cameroon exited the Confederations Cup last night after losing to Germany.

The reigning world champions ran out 3-1 winners over the Indomitable Lions in Sochi, a result that left Cameroon bottom of Group B in the final standings.

Hoffenheim midfielder Kerem Demirbay put Germany ahead just after half-time, before Cameroon’s Ernest Mabouka was shown a straight red card.

Timo Werner bagged a brace either side of Vincent Aboubakar’s late goal, which proved to be a mere consolation for Cameroon.

Germany will face Mexico in the semi-finals, with Portugal meeting Chile in the other last four tie.
