Callum Paterson made his full international debut for Scotland in last night’s friendly defeat against Italy.
The 21-year-old defender started the match at right-back as the Scots went down 1-0 in Malta, thanks to Graziano Pelle’s 57th-minute strike.
He played 45 minutes and becme the 80th Hearts player to pull on the dark blue jersey, while teammate Jack Hamilton was an unused sub.
Scotland are in action again on Saturday when they take on France in Metz.
Meanwhile Perry Kitchen was an unused sub for the US in yesterday’s 4-0 friendly win over Bolivia.
The US begin their Copa America campaign on Friday against Colombia in California.
