Jamie Brandon will be out of action until at least November after picking up a serious injury in Tuesday’s U20s match.
The full-back was forced off injured against Aberdeen and scans have confirmed that he has ruptured his ACL and torn his meniscus.
The 20-year-old made his first-team debut in the final game of last season and has gone on to make 14 appearances in a maroon shirt.
His performances caught the eye of manager Craig Levein and he was rewarded with a new contract in October, which will keep him at Tynecastle until 2020.
Jamie will now work closely with the club’s medical staff in a bid to come back even stronger than before.
