Bobby Burns believes Hearts are already starting to gel as a team after the Jambos won their opening pre-season game away to Arbroath.
The Northern Irish teenager, one of ten new acquisitions over the summer, set up what proved to be the winning goal, cutting back for Ross Callachan to slam past Darren Jamieson.
He was pleased to get his first outing in a Hearts shirt and can already see the new-look side starting to play to each other’s strengths.
Speaking to HeartsTV at full time, he said: “It was good. It was tough because the conditions were warm.
“I got my first 45 minutes and obviously we’ve done a lot of running in pre-season but its different whenever you go into a match.
“It’s good just to start getting match fitness.
“It wasn’t that hard to play alongside new faces.
“It’s tough a wee bit, getting to know people and the strengths and weaknesses of different players but I thought we did well in both halves.
“Getting the win was good and I think we played well as a team.
“We’ve been working on our shape in the last few days.
“The second goal kind of came through something we’d been working on so it was pleasing.”
