Billy King has revealed that he is ahead of schedule in his battle to get back to full fitness following an ankle injury.
The winger missed the last few weeks of the season after going under the knife, and he’s hopeful that he’ll be back to his usual self quicker than planned.
Speaking to HeartsTV, Billy said:” My rehabilitation is coming along good; I think I’m ahead of schedule. I’ve been coming in with the new physio – Karen Gibson – and doing rehab exercises, pool and stuff.
“I think I’ll be in for the next couple of weeks and hopefully get to a stage where I can start running.
“Then I can have a nice break as I’m going on holiday and stuff, and then come back in and hopefully be 100% for pre-season.”
Looking to next season, Billy believes he can carry on the form that saw him be such a hit in the Championship, into the Premiership.
“I think I can achieve much the same, next season,” he said. “I want to improve on goals and assists as well. I obviously got quite a few assists and something I’ve always wanted to do is score more goals every season, so hopefully that.
“To be honest, this season I started more games than I thought I would’ve so it’s been a bonus that as well, so hopefully next season I can kind of try and get a starting place in the team and just get consistent performances week in, week out. We’ll see what happens from there.”
