Big Hearts is delighted to host their third Kinship Family Day on Tuesday 17th of October, between 11am and 3pm in the Gorgie suite at Tynecastle park. The event is free and open to all kinship care families across Scotland.
Since 2015, Big Hearts and their partner Mentor Scotland have developed a wide range of comprehensive support for young people and their carers, including a weekly After School Club at Tynecastle, holiday activities, peer to peer support and emergency essential funds.
Last year’s Kinship Family Open Day was a great success, with over 300 guests, becoming the largest gathering of kinship carers in Scotland. This year’s event is set to be even bigger with an exciting host of activities for the whole family, including face painting, stadium tours, music tuition, football, multi sports and games! A tasty lunch will be offered to all, along with the chance to meet Hearts’ first team players! A market place of 15 info stalls will also be open for carers, allowing them to know more about the various support available in the community.
Big Hearts Interim General Manager, Craig Wilson said:
