Beni thankful for the fans

Beni Baningime says he’s “thankful” for the support from the Hearts fans, after defeating St. Mirren 4-2 in a Scottish Cup thriller at Tynecastle

Our midfield master opened the scoring in Gorgie, in what was not only his maiden strike in maroon, but his first professional goal.
In a match packed with end-to-end action, as the Buddies pulled the game back multiple times, Beni says the 13,000+ Jambos inside Tynie made all the difference.
“It still feels surreal, to be fair! It was strange, before the game – I just had this confidence. As a team, I thought we played some great football,” he told Hearts TV.
“I think we’ve known for the whole season that it’s like if anyone goes out for any reason, there’s always someone there to step in. We have a great system and because we’re all a tight bunch of boys – it helps makes us all great. I’m excited, to be fair.
“It feels great to get my first! I thought it was never going to come. When Cammy scored his first goal I though; ‘I really need to score mine soon!’.
“I’m working on Baz now, I think his will be a banger. It was a great atmosphere and we’re really thankful for the fans. Even at 2-2, they were pushing us on and we always felt like we could win as comfortably as we did. We’re so thankful.”
