Match report by Bill Smith
A single goal, scored by Euan Henderson two minutes into the second half, was enough to give a young Hearts U20s side the points in this Development League match at the Falkirk Stadium yesterday afternoon.
The scoreline does not give the true story of a match that Hearts dominated for almost the ninety minutes.
A combination of missed chances, some bad luck, and fine saves from 'keeper Robbie Mutch amazingly kept the scoreline blank at half-time, when truth be told Hearts may have scored four or five.
Henderson pounced on a loose ball before rifling a shot past Mutch two minutes into the second half.
It was a second period that was similar to the first forty-five minutes with Hearts dominating, but unable to add to the single goal.
The one downside was a knee injury to Jay Sandison who was helped from the field with some two minutes left to play.
Hearts’ next match is against Kilmarnock at Riccarton tomorrow afternoon with a 1pm kick-off.
