Alim Ozturk has revealed that he’s set to be involved in tomorrow afternoon’s friendly match against Shelbourne.
The Turkish defender missed out Wednesday night’s win over Bohemians after recovering from surgery two months ago.
But now he’s feeling better by the day and feels ready to don a Hearts shirt for the first time this pre-season.
Speaking exclusively to HeartsTV at the team hotel in Dublin today, Alim said: “I hope that I’m going to play. After my surgery in May, I feel that I’m almost fit.
“I need a little bit more training but the game is good for me too. I’m going to try and play 45 minutes.
“Of course, I’m looking forward to getting back onto the pitch and in the Premiership as well. There’s new clubs and new games for us. I can’t wait.”
Despite not being involved against Bohemians in midweek, Alim was a keen spectator and thinks the Jambos can only improve as the games come thick and fast and pre-season training continues.
“It was the first game so it was alright, for a first game,” he said. “After a few games we’ll be better.
“Like always, pre-season training is hard, but it’s good for us to get more fitness and it’s a really good pre-season for us.
“It’s been a really good trip so far. I’ve never been to Dublin before but it’s really nice over here, it’s really good.”
