Alim Ozturk insists he can't wait to make his Tynecastle debut on Friday against Manchester City, and he revealed he's not running scared of the English champions' armada of superstars.
Centre-half Alim, signed during the summer from Trabzonspor, will don the famous maroon jersey for the first time tomorrow night and he's looking forward to locking horns with some of the best players in the world.
Speaking to the media at the Hearts Football Academy, Alim said: "Yes, of course I am looking forward to playing in front of the home crowd for the first time. It is a nice game against Manchester City.
"You don't play games like this too much. I've never played before against Manchester City but I'm happy to play this game and I can't wait to play at Tynecastle.
"I'm not scared about lining up against anyone. If it's Alvaro Negredo or somebody else, it's no problem for me."
The Turkish U21 cap arrived in Gorgie full of knowledge about Edinburgh's oldest and most successful football club, thanks to a certain derby-destroying striker.
"I heard much about Hearts because I played in Holland with Mark de Vries. I came here, I think four or five years ago, with all of my team-mates - and Mark de Vries also - and we drove from our house in Holland to the club and he told me about his experiences.
"I came here for a Hearts v Hibs game so I know about this game. I can't wait to play in this game.
"I heard about Mark scoring four goals against Hibs. It was his first game at Tynecastle. I heard about this...I know it!"
