Adam Eckersley has become the latest signing of this transfer window after agreeing terms at Tynecastle.
The Englishman, a product of Manchester United's youth system, has signed on at Hearts until the end of the season.
The 28-year-old has spent the past six years playing in Denmark and returns to British football to challenge for the left-back slot at the club.
Speaking exclusively to Hearts News, head coach Robbie Neilson said: "I'm glad to get Adam in. He's got experience, a good grounding and is a great character.
"We watched a lot of him on video and spoke to various people about him and got good reports, and he's impressed in the time he's spent with us.
"He works hard and wants to well. It's great to get both cover for the left-back slot and someone in to challenge Kevin McHattie."
