Hearts’ Academy sides are enjoying unprecedented success in this season’s CAS Cup competitions.

Being held at U13s, U14s, U15s and U16s age groups for the first time, the competition involves every academy team in Scotland.

The group stages were played across June and August with the young Jambos finishing in the top two positions across every age group, the only club in Scotland to do so.

The U13s defeated Celtic 2-0 in last week’s semi-final and will face Rangers at home in the final on Saturday at 10am.

There is also a final appearance for the U14s. They will play Aberdeen at home on Sunday at 1pm after seeing off Motherwell 2-0 in last week’s semi final.

Hoping to join them are the U15s and U16s, they play Rangers and Celtic respectively in their age group’s semi-finals, on Saturday at 1pm and Sunday at 10am.

Reflecting on the Academy sides’ progress, Sporting Director Joe Savage said: “To have all four age groups either in finals or on the cusp of finals is a fantastic achievement.

“There is a lot of hard work that goes on in our Academy system, with dedicated coaches and talented young players who are willing to learn, and this tournament reflects really well on their efforts.

“No matter the outcome they should all be proud of their progress in the CAS Cups, and hopefully they get their rewards by lifting some silverware at the end.”
