Aaron Hughes made a return to action this afternoon in a closed doors friendly match at Oriam.
The Northern Ireland international got his first pre-season minutes under the belt in a 2-1 victory for the Reserves against Norwegian side SK Brann U20s.
Hughes, who recently signed a one-year contract extension, played 78 minutes in the win, with fellow first-teamers Steven Naismith and Steven MacLean also featuring.
Hearts took the lead on 16 minutes when Euan Henderson teed up MacLean at the edge of the box and the forward drilled a low shot into the bottom left corner of the net.
The visitors restored parity with a close-range finish on 68 minutes, but the Jambos bagged the winner five minutes later when Cameron Logan hit an overhead kick from Dino Leddie’s cross which deflected into the path of Bartlomiej Gajda, who slammed home from eight yards.
