Ryotaro Meshino has revealed that he turned down offers from other European clubs to join Hearts because the club made him feel wanted.
The Japanese forward today signed a season-long loan deal from Manchester City, subject to international clearance, and could go into tomorrow’s matchday squad for the visit of Hamilton Academical.
21-year-old Royatro made his name in the J-League with Gamba Osaka before making the move to Etihad Stadium in the summer.
Not short of offers, he visited Tynecastle earlier in the month and was blown away by the reception he received, which made up his mind that his immediate future lay in Gorgie,
Speaking to HeartsTV, Ryotaro said: “I’m delighted to be here and I feel very good about coming to Hearts and everybody that I’ve met at the club.
“I visited many clubs in Europe and I felt that at Hearts, it was the best feeling, with watching the game, the supporters, and the people at the club.
“I felt that the people at the club really wanted me to come here and this was the most important thing when I visited.
“I’m an exciting player who dribbles and want to assist my teammates and also score goals, and get started with Hearts.”
