Robbie Neilson wants to win Sunday's Edinburgh derby as a thank you to the Hearts fans for their unrivalled support over the past two years.
The Jambos welcome city rivals Hibs this weekend in the opening home match of the Championship season, and the Gorgie head coach wants to send the Tynecastle faithful home with something to smile about.
Speaking at this morning's pre-match press conference, Robbie said: "Anytime you get a victory is great, for the confidence of the team and also for the fans, for the prestige of the city and for going into their work the next day and to have the bragging rights is great.
"It's important we try and repay the fans by giving them that.
"Over the last year to 18 months it's been a very difficult period for them and they've backed us every step of the way. It's important that we put on a performance on Sunday that shows that."
Despite an influx of new signings this summer, Robbie feels that his players will know just how big a deal this match is and will prepare them accordingly.
"They'll probably realise it in the build-up to the game," he said. "They'll realise it in the next couple of days as it gets closer. There's the build-up in the media and the press, and the fans speaking to them, so they'll recognise that.
"Also, when they get to the stadium they'll recognise it with the atmosphere and the warm-up, the intensity and the noise.
"From my point of view, I'll obviously tell them it's an important game, it's this and it's that, but we try and be a bit more detailed than that; what Hibs are going to do, what their players are going to do, different movements that they'll try and make.
"It's important that they realise it's a huge game but we build up the same as we do for every game."
