Glorious Hearts Update

25th March 2016

Bottles representing goals against Hibs are sold out. Remaining bottles are still available.

Heart of Midlothian Football Club have teamed up with Tullibardine to launch two single malt whiskies, including a special limited edition dedicated to the club’s leading goalscorer John Robertson.

The 27 bottles of Glorious Hearts which represent goals against Hibs have now sold out.

With the first edition of Glorious Hearts, the club honour John Robertson; Hearts' all-time number one League, Scottish Cup and European goal scorer. Production of this has been limited to 271 bottles, each dedicated to one of Robbo's 271 goals in a Hearts jersey. Each bottle is hand-signed and includes a booklet which tells the story of that bottle's specific goal.

Glorious Hearts is a balanced 12 Year Old Single Malt that provides a sweet subtle hint of butterscotch, soft toffee and summer fruits. There is an elegant palate of citrus, Vanilla and Hazelnuts with a long, mild spicy finish with a little hint of the time spent maturing in the oak barrels.

Always Hearts, a winner of a Silver award at the IWSC (International Wine and Spirit Competition) is a delicious single malt exhibiting barley, pear drops and creamy chocolate notes. It is an easy drinking malt, ideal for all occasions.

Scot Gardiner, Chief Operating Officer at Hearts, said: ”This is a significant leisure project for the club and we are thrilled with the final product. Tullibardine have done a fantastic job; creating two special whiskies which will help diversify what we have on offer here at Tynecastle. We are delighted to honour Robbo in this way and I’m sure his edition of Glorious Hearts will become a collector’s piece for fans of the club as well as whisky aficionados.”

James Robertson, International Sales Manager at Tullibardine, supports Scot’s comments: “It was a real pleasure to work with Hearts to help produce this whisky. I feel we have created a wonderful pair of whiskies for the Club and I am very proud to have been able to be there for the launch”

Ann Budge, Craig Levein, Robbie Neilson and John Robertson were amongst the attendees at the recent launch night at Tynecastle where James introduced the whiskies before running a special tasting for the audience.

Both whiskies are on sale now and available online only at
