Match Report

The second friendly of the new season saw a young side share the spoils with their East of Scotland
opponents.

Hearts had the bulk of possesion with Euan Henderson having an early shot saved, but in general not many chances were created during the first period, although Chris Hamilton and Sean Ward had further efforts saved.

Michael Barfoot fired a shot just past a post for the hosts, three minutes before Aidan Denholm gave Hearts the lead on 51 minutes, with a left-footed shot in off a post from a Ward pass.

Both sides had further chances with Cammy Logan having a shot saved, then supplying the cross for Henderson to fire a shot past the gaping goal.

There followed a raft of substitutions that broke up the play although Henderson had a further shot just past a post, then he may have done better from a good position on 71 minutes.

Sixty seconds later Hearts were punished for not converting their chances when Taylor Hendry headed home a right wing cross from around ten yards.

Hearts: Silva; Logan, Ward (Docherty, 69'), Darge, Ritchie, Hamilton, Schiavone (Charleston-King, 20'), Denholm (McGill, 67'), Currie (Trialist, 69'), Moore, Henderson.
