Heart of Midlothian 2-2 Hamilton Academical
Saturday 31st August 2019, KO 15:00 | Ladbrokes Premiership | Tynecastle Park
Ryotaro Meshino could be in line to make his debut after his international clearance came through yesterday evening.
The other big news for the Jambos is the return of Steven Naismith, who has trained all week and been selected for Steve Clarke's latest Scotland squad.
John Souttar (ankle) missed out on selection and is therefore expected to miss this one. Another two expected to join him on the sidelines are Joel Pereira (thigh) and Michael Smith (hamstring), who both picked up minor injuries against Celtic.
Ben Garuccio, Craig Wighton (both knee), Peter Haring (pelvis), and Jamie Walker (leg) are the long-term absentees.
Accies will be without the suspended Jamie Hamilton, who was sent off in the Lanarkshire Derby - and his league debut - against Motherwell.
Summer signings Ciaran McKenna and Steve Davies also missed last week through injury, and Brian Easton serves the second match of a two-game ban.
Blair Alston sat out the derby but is expected to return for this one, although Scott Martin has only just returned to training following injury.
Hearts' form has been well-documented of late but it is worth pointing out that in their last ten league games, Ross County are the only team they've placed outside of last year's top five.
In that time, Steven Naismith has only made two cameo appearances - albeit a twenty-minute performance against Aberdeen that almost snatched all three points.
Hamilton currently sit on three points in the Ladbrokes Premiership, having picked up a surprise win against Kilmarnock - despite being down to ten men.
However, either side of that they have lost to Ross County and Motherwell, 3-0 and 3-1 respectively.
Hearts have not lost to Hamilton at home since 1977. However, the most recent match between the two was a 1-0 win for the Accies at New Douglas Park - an Aaron McGowan goal separating the sides before David Vanecek hit the crossbar.
In 137 competitive meetings, the card reads: Hearts - 83, Hamilton - 40, Draws - 14.
Of those 40 Hamilton wins, only seven have come away from home.
