Hearts at BT Murrayfield

Hearts will play their next home games at BT Murrayfield.

We understand this isn't an ideal situation for the club and for our supporters, but we are absolutely determined to embrace the opportunities this series of matches bring.

These games offer the chance for thousands of supporters to enjoy the game and will allow fans to experience one of the world's most iconic stadium.

As a thank you to season ticket holders, we are pleased to offer a special offer which means they bring a friend for a special price.

Season Ticket Holder 'Bring a Friend Scheme'


We really appreciate the patience shown by season ticket holders during this period of redevelopment. We would like to thank them by offering them the opportunity to bring a friend to any of our matches played at BT Murrayfield. This special offer means a friend can enjoy the match for up to 50% less than normal match-day tickets. Prices are as follows:

  • Adults: £15
  • O65 / FTE / ESA: £10
  • U18: £10
  • U13: £5

These prices are valid for all matches. 

This offer is limited to two tickets per season ticket holder per match.

Those season ticket holders choosing to bring a non-season ticket holder may choose to relocate so their friend can sit with them. This means that anyone wishing to purchase this option must visit the ticket office in person or call 0333 043 1874, option 1, then option 8.

Premium Season Ticket holders have been allocated premium seats at BT Murrayfield. This means that any Premium Ticket holder that wishes to take advantage of this offer will need to relocate to another part of the stand. Please contact the ticket office for more information.

Fans can purchase over the phone by calling 0333 043 1874, option 1 then 8 or in person at the Hearts Ticket Office situated in the Wheatfield Stand Undercroft.


Mini-Season Ticket Upgrade


As a thank you to supporters who purchased a mini-season ticket for the three initial Murrayfield games, the club is offering those supporters the opportunity to upgrade their mini-ticket to include the Kilmarnock match.

Upgrade prices are as follows:

  • Adults: £15
  • O65 / FTE / ESA: £10
  • U18: £10
  • U13: £5

To upgrade your ticket, simply call 0333 043 1874, option 1 then 8 or visit the Hearts Ticket Office in person at Tynecastle Park.

Individual match day tickets for Rangers (28/10) and Kilmarnock (05/11) are available via Hearts three sales channels; online at Hearts eTickets, over the phone by calling 0333 043 1874, option 1 or in person at the Hearts Ticket Office situated in the Wheatfield Stand Undercroft 


Where do I collect my tickets?

Existing season ticket holders will receive a printed match ticket for the game. These will be posted out from the Hearts Ticket Office alongside a map of BT Murrayfield showing seating areas and access routes. Ambulant Disabled, Wheelchair Users and those visually impaired will have their tickets posted at the same time.

Those purchasing a mini season ticket can choose to collect their tickets from the Hearts ticket office or have them delivered. Please select your preferred option at the point of purchase 

Those season ticket holders taking advantage of the ‘bring a friend’ scheme may wish to sit beside their friend. In this case, they must visit the ticket office or call 0333 043 1874, option 1 then option 8. The ticket office will then allocate seats accordingly.


I’ve lost my tickets/my tickets haven’t arrived, can you reprint them?

In this instance, please visit the ticket office or call  0333 043 1874, option 1 then option 8


I selected the print at home option and I haven’t received my email(s)?

I need to upgrade a concession ticket to a full adult ticket. What should I do?

Please contact the ticket office ASAP. No exchanges/upgrades will be possible on the day of the game 


What do I do if I can no longer use my ticket?

No refunds will be issued, but a number of options are available. Please contact the Ticket Office


I don’t have a ticket; can I get one at the stadium on the day?

No. All tickets must be purchased prior to match day via the Hearts ticket office


Can I bring my young child?

All attendees must be in possession of a valid match ticket. We have special pricing options for U13s. Given the noise generated by a large crowd, we do not recommend the environment for babies.

Baby changing units are available in the disabled toilets in the lower west stand (south corner) area and in the lower west stand (north corner) area. The doors are marked with baby changing signs.

There is also a parenting room, accessible from the concourse behind the east stand (north corner) – please ask one of our volunteers or a steward for access to the facility. There are two dedicated buggy drop off points within the stadium, please email feedback@sru.org.uk in advance to let us know you want to use this facility.


I have problems with my mobility; can I get assistance to my seat?  

To request stadium support please contact the Hearts Ticket Office and let us know what assistance is required.  

A limited number of wheelchairs are available to assist you on the day, please enquire for more information.  


My mobility has been affected since I bought my ticket. What if I’m physically unable to get to my seat?                                                                                                                                                                         

In this case, please contact the Hearts ticket office ASAP so they can discuss the options with you


What do I do if I find someone sitting in my seat with the same ticket, or if there is a problem with my seat?                                                                                                                                               

Contact your nearest steward, they are here to help you.

By Train

Haymarket station is the closest to BT Murrayfield – a 20 minute walk, or a short bus/tram ride to the stadium.

Trains are likely to be very busy on all match-days.. Where possible, you should plan to catch an earlier train to avoid disappointment.

By Tram

Edinburgh Trams run services from every 7 minutes to the entrance of BT Murrayfield stadium from locations such as Edinburgh Airport, Ingliston Park & Ride, Edinburgh Gateway and Haymarket.

Tickets must be purchased prior to boarding trams using the ticket vending machines at tram stops or on the Transport for Edinburgh App. Edinburgh Trams recommends purchasing return tickets to make your journey simpler. Return tickets are available from tram stop ticket vending machines with options available for both the city fare zone and the airport fare zone. Customers are requested to have their tickets ready for inspection at the gateline, which will be in place at the Murrayfield Stadium tram stop.

Edinburgh Council Note of Restrictions

It is imperative you allow plenty of extra time for your journey to the game. There are plenty of activities to enjoy at BT Murrayfield before the match, with lots of food options available.


Road Closures and Restrictions

Traffic restrictions may be implemented on nearby streets on match day. Visit the Edinburgh Council website for full details of traffic and parking restrictions.



Turnstile Accces



The South & East Stands: Can be accessed via the main Roseburn Street turnstiles, close to the Edinburgh Tram stop.

The West Stand: Accessed via the Roseburn Street turnstiles. Fans in this stand will be directed along the East West Link to enter via the West Turnstiles.



North Stand Only: Accessible off Corstorphine Road and along Riversdale Crescent, the turnstiles are beside Murrayfield Ice Rink.


When do Turnstiles Open?


Hearts v Rangers (28th October)

Hospitality turnstiles open at: 10.30am

General turnstiles open at: 11.00am


Hearts v Kilmarnock (5th November)

Hospitality turnstiles open at: 12.30pm

General turnstiles open at: 1.30pm


Turnstile Security Checks

The safety and security of our spectators is of paramount importance. In line with normal policy, all bags being brought into BT Murrayfield will be subject to search. Bags no larger than 30cm (H) x 30cm (W) 15cm (D) will be permitted. Please be aware bags larger than this will NOT be permitted and there are no left luggage facilities in or around the stadium. Please arrive early in order to pass through security checks and access the stadium in a timely manner.



Where can I park?

There is no public parking at BT Murrayfield, please use public transport, further information regarding services can be found in our FAQ’s.


Is there parking for disabled supporters?

Parking is provided for disabled supporters who previously held a pass allowing them to park in the old Tynecastle High School. 

There may be a limited number of additional passes available.  Please e-mail our liaison officer: KeithFerguson@homplc.co.uk with your request.


Where can I park my coach or minibus?

Coach and minibus parking is not available at BT Murrayfield Stadium.

Away team coaches and minibuses are directed to parking areas along the A8 Corstorphine Road. All coach and minibus drivers should approach BT Murrayfield from the A8 Corstorphine Road where they will be directed to park.

It is vital that drivers co-operate and follow instructions and directions to ensure maximum capacity. The first vehicles to arrive will be parked nearest to the stadium. 



Baby Changing Facilities

There are changing units in the disabled toilets in the lower west (south) stand area and in the lower west (north) stand area. The doors have the appropriate baby changing signs on them. There is also a parenting room, accessible from the concourse behind the east stand (north corner) – please ask one of our Blue Crew volunteers or a steward for access to the facility.



We now have a Changing Places Toilet available located in vomitory 7 next to the Macron shop in the South West corner of the stadium.

Accessible toliets are situated throughout the stadium, however, RADAR keys are not required for access


Cash Facilities

Please note there is no cash machine at BT Murrayfield. The nearest cash machines are located on Roseburn Street at Tesco or at Sainsbury’s at Westfield Road. Both are approximately a 10 minute walk from the stadium.



A selection of food will be available at BT Murrayfield prior to and during the game.  


Information Point and Volunteers

An information point is available at the ticket office located opposite the East stand. Here one of our knowledgeable volunteers will be able to help you with any questions you may have about your day.

Alternatively, our volunteers will be in position around the stadium to answer any questions about the game, the stadium and the events of the day.


Feeling Unwell?

We have a full medical team on duty for your safety and wellbeing, including First Aid, paramedics and doctors. If you feel unwell, please contact your nearest steward, who will direct you to further help. The First Aid room is located at ground level in the south west corner of the stadium (near the Scottish Rugby store).


Lost Property

If you mislay property in the stadium, please contact your nearest steward. If you discover the loss after the event, contact our Facilities staff at feedback@sru.org.uk.


Match Programme

A souvenir programme will be available from sellers located around the stadium.



There will be Hearts merchandise available to purchase at the stadium. 


 Rucksack or suitcase

To ensure efficient entry into the stadium we advise spectators to not bring bags to matches unless absolutely necessary. Any necessary bags should be small in size, no bigger than 30cm x 30cm x 15cm and should be capable of being stored comfortably under your seat. Large bags will not be permitted. We assume no responsibility for baggage within the stadium. All bags being brought to the stadium will be subject to a search, as a condition of entry.

Flask of tea or coffee or any other liquids

Flasks are not permitted. Bags will be searched on entering the stadium.  


You may bring small amounts of food into the stadium for your own use. Large picnic hampers are not permitted.


In line with other major venues no drinking bottles or cans can be brought into the stadium.  permitted.


Alcohol is prohibited and it is a criminal offence to attempt to enter or be within the stadium with alcohol.

Perfume and Deodorant Canisters

Yes, these can be brought into the stadium with you.

Air horns

Only mechanised air horns (blow-through or wind-up) are allowed inside the stadium. Pressurised containers are not permitted.


Amateur cameras are not permitted and it is contrary to the Ground Regulations to film any part of the playing surface during the game.

Selfie Sticks

Selfie sticks are not encouraged and may be removed.


Yes! The more team flags brought to the stadium the better – just make sure the sticks are no more 7mm in diameter and no more than 1m tall and there’s no ‘pointy bit’ on the end! Banners or flags with slogans which are offensive, abusive or of a racist, homophobic or discriminatory nature will not be allowed into the stadium.


Instruments, dependant on their size, may be allowed into the stadium at the discretion of the event safety team.


Umbrellas can be taken into the stadium with you.

Guide Dogs

No animals other than Guide Dogs are permitted in the stadium.

Restricted Items

Knives, weapons, dangerous or hazardous items, fireworks,  flares and pyrotechniques devices are not permitted within the stadium.



Hearts and Scottish Rugby wants everyone who comes to BT Murrayfield to have a great match day experience. Supporters are encouraged to be mindful of others while enjoying all that is on offer. 

The stadium is situated in a residential area and Scottish Rugby asks you to please be mindful and respectful of local residents and their property when entering and leaving the ground. Please do not take any drinks with you when you leave, and please dispose of your rubbish in the bins provided.
