A composed and steady right-back or central defender who was recruited in August 2005 on a three-year contract from the French First Division side FC Sochaux-Montbeliard. Ibrahim had been a regular in the Sochaux team for three seasons, making over 70 League appearances and also gaining experience in the UEFA Cup.
The tough 24-year-old defender joined Sochaux in 2002 from his first senior side, CS Louhans-Cuiseaux, where he made his League debut in season 2000-2001. He became an instant hero with the Tynecastle faithful when he played in the team that won the 2006 Scottish Cup against Gretna, and is now looking forward to regaining his place in the international setup of Senegal, his parents' homeland.
