HNT: Awesome Obua
Boss Jim Jefferies today singled out David Obua for special praise following Saturday's impressive victory over Hibs.
While admitting every player in maroon was hero in the derby clash, JJ highlighted the immense contribution from the Ugandan international, who was named as Sky Sports' man of the match.
Having been identified by his manager as a useful target man, the 25-year-old caused the Hibees rearguard endless problems throughout the 2-1 Tynecastle triumph, a win which cut the fifth-placed Leith outfit's advantage over Hearts to just seven points.
"There were a lot of good performances on Saturday and I didn't think we had a failure anywhere on the park, although David did stand out," Jim told Hearts News Today.
"He won more than his fair share against Bamba in the air and his movement and touch made him a hard man to play against.
"He linked up well, created a number of chances for us and was unlucky on a number of occasions himself.
"I'm not sure if he ever thought he could play in that position. He has played off the front before but that's different to what we're doing with him and he has impressed us.
"He's a good out for us but when we did play it up to him, he showed good technique and the move that set up Gary Glen when he went through on the keeper was excellent link up play.
"He's useful on the ground, not just in the air."
