In line with their current league position, 'The Well' have conceded the third least amount of goals in the 2007/08 season, thanks in no small part to ever present defensive players like Mark Reynolds, Stephen Craigan and Graeme Smith between the sticks providing invaluable consistency.

Hearts met Motherwell in the Scottish Cup Fourth Round twice through January, the first match ending in a 2-2 stalemate and a solitary McCormack effort proving the difference in the replay. The head to head form this season in the league is indifferent, one loss and one win showing this Saturday's encounter could go either way.

The Jambos will be hoping to leapfrog cross-city rivals Hibernian with a win that would also see us close the gap on Motherwell's last opponents, Inverness Caledonian Thistle, to a slim one point.
