Play against the Hearts Legends!
The Hearts Legends team is made up of a number of former players from various eras who still have a zest and passion for playing the game.
The team have already played in a number of charity, benefit and challenge matches in recent times against teams which include Clydesdale Bank, Newcraighall Leith Victoria, RBS, Scottish Gas, Students Awards Association Scotland, AEGON and a Dalkeith Select. These games have taken place at a variety of venues including local communities, Hearts Football Academy and of course Tynecastle Stadium.
Since May 2008 the team has helped raise £26,000 for local groups and charities including CHAS, CCLASP, Marie Curie, Sick Kids and Teenage Cancer Support.
The team is made up of predominantly ex-Hearts players but depending on availability can also involve players who have represented other professional clubs. Individuals who have been involved in recent months include;
John Robertson, Gary Mackay, Henry Smith, Jimmy Sandison, Scott Crabbe, Brian Hamilton, Jose Quitongo, Colin Scott, Max Christie, Neil Irvine, Alan McLaren, Steve Fulton, Alan Lawrence, Paul Ritchie and Stuart Lovell.
Through the Heart of Midlothian Education and Community Trust, the team is open to invitations to play against teams, clubs, or groups who wish to test their ability against our seasoned professionals. The only thing we ask is that the game is played for the benefit of a registered charity, children's or youth group and the Heart of Midlothian Education and Community Trust.
If you have a team or would like to organise a squad to play against the Hearts Legends please contact Community Development Manager Alan White at alan@homplc.co.uk for more information and details.
