A safe and athletic keeper from Slovakia, Marian joined Hearts in August 2008 on loan from the Lithuanian Champions FBK Kaunas, just after helping to eliminate Rangers from the Champions League.
The agile shot-stopper began his senior career with MFK Kosice and in 2002, he moved to the Czech Republic to play for the second level club, FK Vitkovice.
Marian was recruited by FBK Kaunas in July 2007 and assisted his new club to win the Championship in 2007 and also the Cup Final in May 2008. He spent much of last season on the bench but made a fine comeback in April 2009 to help Hearts secure a place in Europe. Marian then signed a one-year extension to his loan. Earned the No. 1 tag under Jim Jefferies but was sidelined shortly after by a fractured wrist. In August 2010, Marian signed a permanent two-year contract after being released by FBK Kaunas.
