A fast and elusive winger or second striker, Arvydas is a regular in the Lithuanian U21 side. His potential has also been recognised by Benfica, who gave the lively attacker a trial when he was with his first senior club FC Vilnius. For the 2007 season, Arvydas was loaned to Visagino FK Interas who had been promoted to the highest level in Lithuania. Then when FC Vilnius failed to obtain a licence for 2008 and lost its place in the top league, Arvydas had a brief spell with FK Utenis in the Second Division. He subsequently signed for Hearts in September 2008 and some impressive form led to his senior debut in May 2009 against Celtic at Parkhead. Arvydas made a welcome return to the squad in February 2010 after being out for two months with an ankle ligament problem.
