A dashing winger from Saddleworth in Lancashire, Andy sets up the chances with his pace and crossing skills and he is also a regular goal scorer. Andy was actually raised in Gullane and became a Scottish Schoolboy international before graduating from the Hearts Academy in July 2003. He then made his debut in August 2006 and established a regular place in 2007-08. During the summer of 2009 Andy also played for the England U21 team in the European Championship Finals and this sparked off some transfer speculation.
However, he signed a five-year deal in July 2008 but was bothered by tendonitis for almost the whole campaign and a thigh injury that required surgery. Although English clubs would like to secure his services, Andy is focused on helping Hearts up the League table in 2010-11 and is now eligible to play for Scotland.
