Season ticket update
MOMENTUM BUILDING AS SEASON TICKET SALES BREAK THROUGH 10,000
. Supporters snap up 3,000 season tickets and break through 10,000 barrier.
. Highest total season ticket sales level since season 2009/10.
. Closing date for season ticket purchases set at 5pm Sunday 4th August.
. Credit card and Debit card facilities available again although cash and cheque payments preferred.
Heart of Midlothian Football Club can today confirm that 3000 season tickets have been snapped up in the space of three weeks.
Administrators Trevor Birch and Bryan Jackson issued a call to arms on June 20th, stating that the club needed to sell 3000 season tickets in order to make it to the start of the new season.
Supporters duly responded, with the 3000th season ticket processed earlier this week. This means that a total of at least 10,000 season ticket holders will watch Gary Locke's young Hearts side in action this season. The club has now put a closing date on season ticket sales of 5pm on 4th August with the total figure expected to be the highest for three years.
Further to this news, the club can announce that an agreement has been made with its merchant service provider that will allow supporters to purchase season tickets through credit and debit cards. Though this is expected to open doors for fans that previously could not make purchases, the club would gratefully encourage cash and cheques as the preferred method of payment.
Speaking to Hearts News, Trevor Birch said: "The Hearts fans continue to respond to the call to support the club and, given the difficult economic times we live in, we have all been overwhelmed and astonished by their passion and generosity in achieving the 3,000 season ticket target in such a short period.
"The return of the credit card facility will, hopefully, make payments easier to process in the coming weeks although we would still encourage everyone to come to the stadium to show their support."
David Southern, Managing Director, said: "Our supporters have not only given the club an essential lifeline in our battle for survival, they have also demonstrated the strength and breadth of support base that potential new owners of Heart of Midlothian Football Club can count on.
"The Hearts supporters and staff can rightly be very proud of what they have achieved so far through ticket sales and a range of fundraising activities. They can hold their heads high as they and the players are the main reason that the club firstly has retained its SPL status and secondly has every opportunity to secure a more stable future.
"If I could shake every one of their hands I would do so but failing that I can assure them that everyone at this club continues to work tirelessly to deliver the club into safe hands in order that it can be enjoyed by our tens of thousands of supporters for many generations to come."
Season tickets can be purchased in person at the Ticket Centre on McLeod Street, online at Hearts eTickets or by calling 0871 663 1874, option 1 (please note that the phone option is not a 24 hour facility and must be used within Ticket Centre opening hours).
