Hearts U19 goalkeeper Jack Hamilton spoke of his delight at being included in the Scotland U18 squad for this week's training camp in Largs.

The young stopper, along with teammates Billy King and Callum Paterson, will be put through his paces by coach Ricky Sbragia today and tomorrow, and Jack is hoping to impress enough to be considered for forthcoming squads.

He told Hearts News exclusively: "There's a few of us going down - myself, Callum and Billy. Hopefully we can go there and do well and hopefully get picked for the next squad.

"It makes you more determined to push on and better yourself. You get a bit of stick off all the boys, but it's just part and parcel of football.

"It'll be good to be with Callum and Billy - I'm sure there'll be some good banter between the three of us."

The U19 league season has been a good one for Jack and his teammates so far.

The Wee Jambos sit top of the table, and continued their good form with a 2-1 win at Aberdeen on Saturday.

However, their title rivals have games in hand and Jack knows there's still a lot of work to be done.

He continued: "We've only had two defeats out of 13 or 14 games so we can't complain at that. The boys have been doing well and there's a good team spirit so hopefully we can keep it up.

"We've got six games left. If we win all our games we'll be one point clear at the end of the season, but we're taking one game at a time."
