Conrad Balatoni is in the midst of the most gruelling week of his football career - but he's determined to prove to Jim Jefferies he has what it takes to succeed at Hearts.

The young defender, who has returned to Gorgie following a successful loan spell with Partick Thistle, was a surprise inclusion in the squad which travelled to Tuscany for the week-long training camp.

And while he know what's in store over the next few days, he's just relishing the opportunity to impress the Tynecastle management team.

"I was very pleased to come here. I wasn't expecting to be in Italy but now I want to show the manager what I can do and hopefully impress," he said.

"The boys all came back last year and said it was the toughest week of their lives so it is going to be very hard, especially with the heat.

"Getting some games for Partick last season was good and I thought I did quite well. Now I want to show the boss here that I am good enough to play for Hearts."

Don't forget, Hearts.TV is the only place for exclusive access to Hearts' training camp in Tuscany.
