Football Fans in Training
The Heart of Midlothian Education and Community Trust and SPL Trust have announced that the Football Fans in Training (FFIT) programme will be returning to Tynecastle Stadium for the second year in a row due to phenomenal demand.
Launched across every club in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League last year, the programme aims to help supporters become more active, shed a few pounds and improve their general health - and the best part is it's completely FREE.
FFIT is aimed at men aged 35-65, who have a BMI of 28+ and a waist (belly) of 40 inches+. The course is a must for those who want to get fit, lose weight and become healthier.

Participants will receive their very own Hearts training kit and will work closely with Hearts Community Development Manager Alan White and Health All Rounds fitness expert Alan Gray one night per week over the course of 13 weeks beginning in August. During this time they will take part in part in physical exercise and will also learn about weight management, diet and healthy eating and alcohol awareness amongst other things.
Alan White commented: "Previous course participants have made a real difference to their lifestyles and their waistlines by signing up to the programme which is growing in popularity. Not only that they have continued to be active by organising their own activities once the courses have come to an end."
Former players including John Robertson, Alan McLaren, Jimmy Sandison and Scott Crabbe have all been invited guests on the programme which has had everyone reminiscing of games gone by and also encouraged the occasional bit of nonsense! These sessions are deigned to be a good laugh as well as very informative.
"What better motivation is there to lose weight and get fitter than spending 13 weeks at Tynecastle - it's also a great opportunity for our staff to meet real Hearts supporters and get them further involved with the club outside matchdays."
To register your interest in this great programme email your name, address, postcode, contact telephone number and Hearts to ffit@sphsu.mrc.ac.uk. Alternatively call 0800 389 2129 or txt 88802 with your contact details. Standard text message rates apply.
