Zal's award
Hearts captain Marius Zaliukas has been named Clydesdale Bank Premier League Player of the Month for December.
The Lithuanian international led by example in guiding the Jambos to three wins and a draw as Jim Jefferies' side consolidated third place in the table.
His dominating performances at the heart of the Gorgie outfit's defence helped the team record two clean sheets in December against Aberdeen and St Mirren and led the panel to vote him the Clydesdale Bank Premier League Player of the Month.
His award completed a terrific double for the team, with rising star David Templeton having also been named the Clydesdale Bank Premier League Young Player of the Month for the second month in a row.
A panel of Scottish football experts chose the award winners from a shortlist which included the top three fans' nominations from Clydesdale Bank's football website, www.cbfootball.co.uk.
Supporters can vote for their manager, player and young player of the month during the last week of each month, and one fan who correctly votes for the three winners will be selected to win a prize.
