Dramatic night at Tynecast as Hearts down Hoops
From Hearts Media at Tynecastle Stadium

Hearts recorded their second 2-0 win in four days along with a second home win of the campaign after victory over Celtic at Tynecastle this evening.

Goals in either half from Ian Black and David Templeton were enough for the win over Neil Lennon's men, who had Joe Ledley sent off ten minutes after half time.

Jim Jefferies stuck with the same eleven that won comfortably at Easter Road on Sunday. The only change to the squad was Jason Thomson making way on the bench for Darren Barr.

David Templeton picked up where he left off on Sunday, driving down the right past Izaguirre after four minutes. His fizzing cross was deflected behind for a corner with Elliott lurking.

Shaun Maloney was first to test Kello after seven minutes. The Celtic captain drove at the Hearts' 18 yard box although his low shot was straight down the Slovakian's throat.

Rudi Skacel's 11th minute corner caused panic in the visiting defence, and the ball was eventually scrambled wide after an old fashioned stramash.

Stephen Elliott was inches away from doubling his Hearts tally on 12 minutes. Palazuelos' deep cross was volleyed back across goal first time by Templeton. The Irishman met the ball at pace with his head, only to see his effort come crashing back off of Fraser Forster's cross bar.

The Hearts' No. 10 had another headed chance after 25 minutes, although he couldn't direct Skacel's cross on target.

Hearts were ahead two minutes later. Rudi Skacel's tapped a free kick short to Ian Black, who strode forward before shooting. The ball took a nick of Majstorovic's head before sailing over Forster for the midfielder's second Hearts goal.

Celtic thought they had a spot kick on 32 minutes after Hooper went down under Kello's challenge, although ref Craig Thomson booked the Englishman for diving.

Hearts tried the same short free kick that lead to goal on 37 minutes. Black this time rolled it to Skacel, although his effort was straight at Forster, who gathered at the second attempt.

Kello was forced in to a point blank save to prevent the equaliser after 39 minutes. Zaliukas was robbed on the by-line by Stokes, who cut back to the waiting Hooper. His shot didn't lack power, but was close enough to Kello to allow him to save with his legs.

Zaliukas rose highest to meet another Skacel corner fur minutes before the break, although he failed to keep his header down. Elliott had another sight of goal a minute later after a clever flick from Kyle, although his snap shot from 18 yards lacked the pace to beat Forster.

Stokes came close to levelling a minute after the restart. Izaguirre's corner eluded Kello although the former Hibs striker was off target.

Templeton was again on the attack on 48 minutes. The winger pulled the ball out of the air, although he dragged his shot well wide of goal.

Celtic found themselves a man down ten minutes after the restart. Ian Black attempted to break up the left-hand side, only to be brought crashing to the ground by Joe ledley with a wild challenge. Craig Thomson didn't hesitate in giving the Welshman his marching orders.

Hearts took full advantage to make it 2-0 two minutes later. Rudi Skacel found himself in space on the left. His sweeping crossfield ball was perfect for the on rushing Templeton, who buried the ball past Forster to add to his stunning derby strike at the weekend.

Ki's near post corner was almost scrambled in at the near post on 59 minutes, although Kello managed to hold the ball on the goal line.

Maloney worked himself a sight of goal two minutes after the hour, although his dipping drive didn't have the accuracy to worry Kello.
Templeton was again in behind on the right, showing quick feet to make space for himself, although his effort lacked the conviction needed to find the net.

Jim Jefferies was in the stand for this one due to a touchline ban, and Neil Lennon joined him with 20 minutes to go, having presumably spoken out of turn to the officials.

Sub Ryan Stevenson was next to test Forster from 20 yards, although his side foot effort was dealt with comfortably by the on-loan 'keeper.

Niall McGinn's speculative effort from a tight angle struck the outside of the post with six minutes remaining, although Kello appeared to have it covered.

Another wicked delivery from Templeton had to be headed behind by Majstorovic to prevent Elliott or Stevenson from having the chance to make it three.

Hearts were reasonably comfortable for the remainder of the 90 minutes, utilising the extra man to make sure of a satisfying win under the floodlights.Hearts: Kello; Jonsson; Bouzid; Zaliukas; Palazuelos; Black (Stevenson 62); Mrowiec; Skacel (C Thomson 78); Templeton (Suso 86); Elliott; Kyle.
