Kyle gutted but proud of fans
Kevin Kyle could not hide his disappointment after Hearts' 4-3 Co-operative Insurance Cup defeat at Falkirk, on Wednesday night.
The former Killie man netted twice in the second half, along with Suso, to give the ten men a 3-2 lead.
However, it was not to be as late goals from Flynn and Stewart knocked the Jambos out.
The big striker was pleased with the way Jim Jefferies' side fought back from 2-0 down, although that didn't ease the pain of losing in such dramatic fashion.
He said: "The first half we were absolutely abysmal - the gaffer went off his head at half time.
"I would like to see the second half stats in terms of possession as I didn't think Falkirk were ever going to trouble us.
"We got back to 3-2, winning the game, ten minutes to go, see it out.
"It's just basic defending that's cost us in the end. At 3-3 you think fair enough, they've got a goal back, let's get to extra time and see how we go.
"To lose a goal with the last touch of the ball…its soul destroying."
The No. 9 was full of praise for the large travelling support. The Hearts' faithful sold out their allocation of 2000 tickets, and Kyle was impressed with the backing given to him and his team-mates.
He said: "The support there was absolutely amazing.
"I haven't witnessed anything like that since my days at Sunderland.
"That was a big away crowd for Scottish football and the Hearts fans were absolutely brilliant.
"We scored the goals and gave them something to cheer about but we've made them all disappointed going home. It's frustrating."
