Anxious wait over Lee
Hearts boss Jim Jefferies is facing an anxious wait to discover the extent of the knee injury sustained by Scotland star Lee Wallace in last night's Euro 2012 qualifier against Liechtenstein at Hampden Park.
The left-back was stretchered off in obvious pain following a second-half challenge by Martin Stocklasa as Craig Levein's struggled against the group minnows.
With fears he has suffered knee ligament damage, Lee will undergo hospital scans this afternoon to determine the full extent of the problem.
"We will have to wait and see what the scans say," JJ told Hearts News.
"Lee has said it doesn't feel as bad as it did and we're hoping it's not as serious as first feared. But we have to get him scanned and we'll know more later today hopefully."
The manager refused to blame Stocklasa for the challenge adding: "These things can happen to anyone on the football park. I don't think there was a lot of malice intended by their player and I wouldn't say it was the over the top. I think it was a case of Lee just getting there first and the lad catching him. But I think Lee knew if he got the ball first he was going to get caught."
JJ, meanwhile, was delighted with the players involved in yesterday's closed door game against Dunfermline at Riccarton, a game the hosts won 3-0.
The match gave him the opportunity to hand a run out to fringe players and those battling their way back to fitness.
"It was a good exercise and the boys' attitude was excellent," he said.
"It was a good work out, some of the younger boys got a game and Gary Glen scored. I was happy with everyone."
