Fantastic legends line-up for John and Nicola
This Sunday, Hearts Legends will come together to support John and Nicola Tams in a very special benefit match to take place at New Dundas Park, home of Bonnyrigg Rose (kick-off 3pm).
And Hearts can today reveal eleven players provisionally included in the legends' matchday squad - including some of the most popular players in the club's history.
More are set to be confirmed as the week goes on with a very strong squad for the game against Real Maroon and Dudingston Athletic, each team of whom will play for a half.
Hearts supporting John and his wife were honeymooning in Sorrento, Italy in July when they were hit by a car and very seriously injured.
Nicola spent eight days in hospital whilst John spent several weeks in intensive car in Naples before being flown home to the UK just over a week ago to continue his recovery.
The current pool of former players, provisionally, set to play on Sunday are:
Henry Smith, Alan McLaren, Jim Weir, Jimmy Sandison, Gary Locke, Jose Quitongo, Alan Lawrence, John Robertson, Scott Crabbe, Brian McNaughton whilst former St Mirren player Ian Ross is going to play in the game as a guest.
Walter Kidd is set to manage the team for the day whilst Hearts' own Scott Wilson will guide supporters through proceedings as PA announcer.
Entry is via cash-only turnstiles at New Dundas Park. Tickets are priced at £3 for adults and £1 for U16s and U5s are free.
Every penny will go to a fund set up to support the significant costs that John and Nicola have suffered.
Real Maroon is the Hearts supporters team which has been in existence for ten years, competing against other supporters, usual on the morning of a first team match.
Duddingston Athletic is a Sunday amateur team, and like Real Maroon, John Tams played for them regularly.
