Jim hopes for quick Calum return
Jim Jefferies is tonight hoping that Calum Elliot won't miss the weekend clash with Dundee United (Sunday, kick-off 3pm, click here to book tickets) - after sitting out tonight's Co-operative Insurance Cup tie against Elgin City.
The forward who has netted three goals in the first two Clydesdale Bank Premier League games, twisted his knee in training yesterday.
Now he's set to be assessed ahead of the weekend clash against Peter Houston's men here at Tynecastle.
"We will get it assessed tonight with the doctor," JJ told Hearts.TV before tonight's victory.
"The doctor will probably get him scanned tomorrow. If he does not make it then we are hopeful that Stephen Elliot will be fit to come back in to the side."
Jim is particularly relieved that Calum has not injured the same knee which robbed him of six months worth of action last term.
"It is a blow," he acknowledged. "The saving grace is it not the same knee. There was nobody near him. He turned to get a strike at the goal and his studs caught the ground.
"Things can happen to anyone but it is a shame it happened to him as he has been on fire but it is more important that we have him for the weekend.
"He would not have played tonight because he is too sore as he only did it yesterday. He might yet shake it off and be ok for the weekend."
