Hearts youngster Gordon Smith is joining Irn-Bru First Division side Stilring Albion on loan until January.

With the recent arrivals of Kevin Kyle and Stephen Elliott, the teenager knows competition for striking places is going to be tough this season and is keen to play regularly in the coming season.

"I want to play games," he said. "That is the only way I am going to improve as a player.

"A couple of strikers have arrived at the club and I think it will benefit me to go somewhere else to get more experience."
