Hearts boss Jim Jefferies today revealed that he could yet unleash BOTH Stephen Elliot and Kevin Kyle on St Johnstone in this weekend's Tynecastle Clydesdale Bank Premier League opener.

The manager was absolutely delighted to yesterday secure a deal for Preston North End front man Elliott, and quickly admitted to Hearts News that he could yet be able to throw former Kilmarnock striker Kyle into the mix for Saturday's blockbuster.

"We're certainly expecting Stephen to be involved on Saturday against St Johnstone and I've not given up hope that big Kevin might be able to get a run out at some stage, too," JJ said.

"The boys know each other extremely well from their time at Sunderland where they formed a formidable partnership.

"It's very exciting for the supporters, and I can tell you it is an exciting prospect for me and the coaching staff too that we've got this quality and experience at our disposal for the season ahead."
