It's captain Zal!
Hearts boss Jim Jefferies today revealed that Marius Zaliukas will be his captain for the new season.
The 26-year-old was handed the armband by JJ when he took over seven months ago and was today appointed as skipper on a permanent basis.
Speaking exclusively to Hearts News, Jim said: "I made Marius captain when I came to the club and he did the job well. He has been captain for our pre-season friendlies and will be skipper for the season.
"He is vocal, has a presence about him, is a quality player and a leader.
"He has always been in my thoughts."
Marius' current contract expires in December and JJ added: "There is time yet to talk to him and hopefully we can keep him longer. He's under contract at the moment but the important thing is out on the pitch and he has done well for us."
Scotland international Lee Wallace has been appointed as vice-captain.
