There is mixed news on the injury front for Hearts boss Jim Jefferies ahead of tonight's friendly with Wolves at Tynecastle.

On the positive side, Ugandan international David Obua returned to training yesterday after sitting out the games against Gillingham and Millwall with a groin problem. Providing he suffers no reaction, he could feature against Mick McCarthy's side this evening.

Also back in contention is Jason Thomson, who didn't make the trip down south due to a thigh strain.

However, ruled out of the clash against the English Premier League outfit is Ruben Palazuelos (knee) and striker Gary Glen, who injured a hamstring yesterday. They join Eggert Jonsson on the sidelines after the Icelandic international suffered concussion in the victory over Millwall on Saturday - he will also sit out this weekend's meeting with Blackburn Rovers.

"With the injuries we have had we would liked to have had something a bit more settled in terms of team selection just," said Gorgie No. 2 Billy Brown.

"That's part of football though and we'll just have to get on with it.

"We'll try to get near to what we're looking at tonight and then on Saturday not be far away from the team which will play against St Johnstone.

"Our pre-season has all been geared to peaking against St Johnstone and one of the pleasing things is that the guys are looking fairly fit.

"Wolves is another step up for us. We had difficult games in England and this is another tough one for us. But it's a good test for us and it's interesting with Christophe Berra coming back to Tynecastle and Steven Fletcher also with Wolves now - I'm sure he'll get a warm welcome from the fans!"

Coverage of tonight's game, which kicks off at 7pm, starts on Hearts.TV at 6.45pm with Lawrence Broadie and Mark Donaldson.
