Jim Jefferies this afternoon revealed how pleased he is with the attitude of Andrew Driver following today's first day back at training.

Of course the flying winger is on his own programme as he recovers from a minor procedure in Sweden last week.

The manager was slightly concerned that having seen a possible move to Burnley fall through the player would be unsettled.

But after a one-to-one talk, the Tynecastle boss was delighted to see Andrew entirely focused on the season ahead.

"I've just spoken to him and he was in a great form of mind," Jim told a news conference to mark the start of pre-season training.

"I was worrying that maybe with the speculation he would be down but it is completely the opposite.

"He won't be with us in Italy but he's seen a big improvement in the last three or four days.

"It will be touch and go whether he makes it at the start of the season but he won't miss too many games. He's very upbeat and positive.

"I expected I would maybe have to pick him up a bit but I didn't."

Meanwhile the manager revealed Dylan McGowan is set to join Cowdenbeath on loan whilst Michael Deland will do the same with East Fife - both in order to get first team experience.

Jim also confirmed that Marian Kello is close to sealing a return to Tynecastle. Terms have been agreed however paperwork is still to be processed.
