Hearts are locked in talks with new signing targets, director Sergejus Fedotovas revealed today.

With Kevin Kyle and Darren Barr having been officially unveiled last week, Jim Jefferies' squad for next season has started to take shape.

JJ has identified other possible recruits ahead of the forthcoming campaign and in an exclusive interview with Hearts.TV, Sergei revealed he hopes to have further positive news regarding more arrivals in the near future.

"I speak to Jim Jefferies every day and he is very positive," he said. "We landed a striker recently and we know the areas we need to strengthen.

"We need to strengthen the midfield and we are in discussions with a couple of very good players. Hopefully those discussions will be finalised very soon , over the next few weeks.

"After that we shall re-address the squad and see if other areas need to be strengthened."

Kevin turned down more lucrative offers to pen a two-year deal at Tynecastle and Sergei added: "That shows we can attract players.

"I accept there can be a lot of speculation that players can get more money elsewhere but I believe here there is a good opportunity to progress your career."
