Hearts star Craig Thomson hopes to prolong his season to help Scotland's U19s to European success.

Tynecastle duo Tommo and Scott Robinson will meet up with the rest of their international team-mates tomorrow before flying out to Croatia for three qualifiers in the Elite Round of the UEFA European Championships.

The call of duty means the pair will have to delay their summer holidays but that's not a problem for Craig, as he told Hearts News.

"It's been a hard season but these are important matches for Scotland and it's always an honour to represent your country," he said.

"There are three difficult matches for us and hopefully I can be involved. If we play as we can, then we have every chance of making it through.

"If we can, it would be a brilliant end to the season for me."

Billy Stark's young lions kick-off against Montenegro on Wednesday, May 19. They then face Belgium two days later before concluding against Croatia on Monday, May 24.
