HNT: Dunfermline date
Hearts boss Jim Jefferies will take his team to Dunfermline for a pre-season friendly on Tuesday, July 27.
The Jambos chief has spent this week busily trying to finalise his preparations for the new campaign and is delighted to have secured the meeting with the Pars at East End Park (kick-off 7.30pm).
The trip to Fife comes a week before the Edinburgh club hosts Barclays Premier League side Wolves, with former captain Christophe Berra making a welcome return to Tynecastle with Mick McCarthy's side.
JJ is still trying to fix up other friendlies before the Clydesdale Bank Premier League campaign kicks off on August 14 and is hopeful of attracting quality opposition.
Speaking to Hearts News Today, Jim said: "The game against Dunfermline is just the kind of match we wanted at that time.
"It will be a decent game and is close to home so I'm sure we will take quite a few supporters over there on the night."
The Hearts manager hopes to have a home game against top-class opponents the weekend before the season begins and he added: "We already have Wolves here and I like to have two home games - we might even have three this year.
"We have been speaking to a few Championship teams in England and we'll be in a better position to know what's happening once all the play-offs have been settled. Regardless of who play, though, it's all about getting it right for the start of the new season."
